CEBU-BOHOL Tour: For the First Time in 2011

Cebu and Bohol is the provinces that composes the Visayas region. these places also treasured with good nature, cool tourist spots and nice people. A good place to visit in this very hot summer and also the destination of our CEBU-BOHOL Tour.

Last April 4, 2011 @ 6am. we boarded the first flight of Airphil Express to Cebu from Davao International Airport. we have arrived at Mactan-Cebu International Airport after 45 minutes of airplane ride. For the first time, I landed my feet in the Earth of Cebu.

Trivia: Cebu is the place where my ancestors (The Lopezes) came from.

On the first day, honestly, I'm very tired and sleepy. because of too much excitement that I didn't sleep because of this tour. For the first time, I did not enjoy the introduction talks of our tour guide. Hmm!!!

Moral Lesson: Sleep and rest for energy conservation. No energy, No enjoy!

I enjoy the company visits in which I appreciates the use of Information System in their everyday undertakings. Like in the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Hmm! but in those times, I still sleepy! Hmm! What a _ _ _ _ _ _! Oops! hehehhe. I also enjoy the foods most especially the Family's Choice Restaurant! Hmm!!! Good bye diet! haha!

Trivia: Family's Choice Restaurant in Cebu is my first eat all you can restaurant I ever dine.

After the company visits and so many food trips, we have landed to the place where Magellan's set his cross. after that, we go to our most loved part of the tour, The Kart Zone Cebu in which I enjoy the go kart racing. In this time, my tardiness replaces with a very big WOW energy factor that boost my energy to the max. Yahoo!!!

New Year, New Excitement

2010 is a very good year to me. it bought many blessings to me. I face all the challenges without fear and gain more friends and even get stronger bonds with other old friends. Also I got so many love from my family.

Their are so many FIRST things in my life this year. they are the following:

• My FIRST Time to be elected in highest position in a club. Including Internal Vice President in Philippine Society in Information Technology Students (PSITS) and President in Rotaract Club of St. Mary's College of Tagum. (SY 2010-2011)
  
• My FIRST Time to attend meetings, seminars and special gatherings frequently this year, like monthly council meetings of Rotaract Council, seminars to different I.T. schools and Leadership seminars. Gosh!, Its frequent.
• My FIRST Time to enter to the two of the prestigious universities in Davao City. They are Ateneo de Davao University and University of the Immaculate Concepcion. What an experience to visit in this prestigious schools.
• My FIRST Time to create my very own cartoon animation thru Flash Animation. The name of the cartoon is "Ang estorya ni Mother Bird". It was a full filling dream to make.
  
• My FIRST Time to be classmate with Paulo Dela Cueva in which he came from the other section and one of the Dean's Lister of the BSCS Department.
• My FIRST Time to sleep over night in my classmate's house (Jerry Sebastian's house) to make our Final projects last 1st semester.
• My FIRST Time to win in a Scrabble game over my opposition. it was also the time I got a medal from this game last intramurals.
• My FIRST Time to be recognize as a third honor (Non-Dean's Lister status) in the stage of Mother Ignacia Multi-purpose hall of my school.
• My FIRST Time to enter again in the Davao International Airport for Departure. Mura ko nasa abroad. hehe.
  
• My FIRST Time to visit again Manila after 7 long years. Everything there is new to my sight.
• My FIRST Time to visit to the biggest mall in the Philippines. SM Mall of Asia. It was so big talaga.
  
• My FIRST Time to talk with the School President (Sister Precy) on her office. I like the office very much.
• My FIRST Time to hold a big teambuilding activity in our club. it was full filling also.
• My FIRST Time to organize an reach-out for the elders at Home for the Aged Center. It was very touching to make them very happy.
• My FIRST Time to visit a City Jail to have an survey for the future out-reach activity.
  
• My FIRST Time to visit an Gawad Kalinga Village and have an out-reach there.
• My FIRST Time to have an laptop computer which is very useful.
• My FIRST Time to enter in an internet cafe and have a surf for 4 pesos per hour.
• My FIRST Time to visit People's Park in Davao City.
  
• My FIRST Time to go to Davao City with all by my self.
• And many more.

All of those are considered to be my accomplishments. Because very opportunity comes, I grab it because I know it will develop on my motivations and boost my skills and experiences.

2011 is a new year. new year to explore and new year of excitement. To all the challenges might come, I know there is Allah who will guide me and family and loves ones who will inspires me.

I have already full fill some of my resolutions. One of my resolutions that I want to full fill is to save money and to spend money wisely.

I hope that you also (readers of this post) will inspire to do things in life. Try Mo! . Do good things that you know for the better. and you will realize, that life is very beautiful.

Do you believe in first kiss, first love?

Hmmp! its love is in the air, isn't? In the month of February, we know about Valentine's Day and a month of flying hearts. In related with this, I will share something that your heart will interested for.

One day in my life, in our house. I clean all the mess in our mini and very small library of our own. Most of them is full of really nose-bleeding old engineering books and really accurate design projects. It was belong to my aunties who were student engineers in SMC before. While cleaning the mess, I open some of the nose-bleeding engineering books and I found something unusual. Its a note with orange and white color scheme and the title is "Do you believe in first kiss, first love?". It was dated back September 16, 1987. I think it is the celebration of SMC's Foundation Day. And I was wondering how my auntie feels in that time. Obviously, maybe she feels love in that time. hehehe, just wondering.

The note is just a guide in different unusual actions of boys to the gurls!!!. Hmmp! gurls, better watch out. hehehehehe! Additional features are "What is Love" and "Where is Love". Heres as follows:

What is Love?
It is something worth its price?
It is something that makes us wise?
It is something that worth it nice?
It is something that hurt and cries?

Where is Love
It is beneath the deep blue sea?
It is under the golfer's tree?
It is beside the green tree?
Or it somewhere between you and me?

And that is. That is the only content of that note. Now, now you know. What does things means. It is upon you if you believe the meaning of these things. But for me, according to my observation. It is accurate.

My 2010 Resolution

2009 is really one of the memorable one because many memories have been cherish on that year. Despite of that. 2009 is also one of the most challenging one. I experience one of the true colors of college life, which is difficulty. Difficulty on spending your money, difficulty in time and difficulty in decision. In which every decision corresponds a responsibility to face. In that year, I already feel that I'm a college student already. I student can stand to face the challenges in life.

2009 also, I experience the things that I was never experience yet in my high school days. Like going somewhere with classmates, to be leader in such a scenario, to open and share different thoughts in life. Including Love...(oie!!!) and bonding to my classmates in which I considered Friends.

In my last blog post in which I tell my 2009 new year's resolution. I stated there 5 resolutions. But only 3 of them were successfully done. The another 2 namely thriftiness and more responsible is some what not successfully fulfill because of many situations I encountered in that year.

So anyways, At least out of 5, 3 were successful, Right?. So, lets go back to the business. I have only few resolution to be in this year. as follows:( Including the 2 were not successfully done)

In general, do the very best in all things to able this 2010 is once again one of the best year in my life.

Educator's Night @ Tagum City Trade Center

One of the program of the City Government of Tagum is to have an Educator's Night to be conducted with different schools of Tagum City. Including St. Mary's College of Tagum,UM Tagum College, NDC Tagum Foundation and University of South Eastern Philippines-Tagum Campus.

St. Mary's College's Educator's Night takes place in Monday November 16, 2009. 6:00pm at the Tagum City Pavilion of Tagum City Trade Center. the pavilion was fully loaded of audience. majority was students of SMC and people inside the trade center. That was a rainny night and others are wet because of the rain. We ride the latest school bus of the school and go to our destination. the bus was full of different faculty members and students who will participate the event. The bus was aircon and comfortable to ride.

when we arrive at the site. we go out of the bus one by one. and we saw a huge number of crowd which seated in the audience seat. We feel nervousness but ready for the presentation because we are thinking that it is just a presentation. the event was attended by the City Mayor Rey T. Uy and his wife, the first lady Mrs. Alma Uy.

As the program started, the audience released a loud noise of excitement. The program was started by a doxology and national anthem. The audience surprises by the opening number of the whole employees of SMC by the song Magandang Gabi of Nonoy Zuniga. This song is the perfect song for this occasion. After the the presentation of the employees of SMC. the presentation of the different departments and teachers coming from the high school and college department showcasing the talents and act of creativity among the presentators. Until we have called by the emcee to perform our presentation. At first, were nervous. because of the fear that we could commit mistakes in our presentation. But when the music start to play, the audience were shouting and cheers. because of that, our self-esteem become high. even we don't feel that we nervous. hehe!!! but, in the serious mode.We performed the MassKara Festival Dance of Bacolod City. We use the fire-burning theme in male costumes while flowery and bright colors for the theme of female costumes. After our presentation, we feel tired and shyness because some of us(including me) commit some mistakes in the dance steps. but we are glad that we made it.

After the different presentations, we have our grand finale in which we sang the song named Isang Mundo, Isang Awit by Leah Navarro and the last part of Magandang Gabi of Nonoy Zuniga. and after that we wave our hands the audience as our remark of appreciation.

And after the whole presentation, Sister Vangie appreciate our presentation in which is feels glad after the sacrifices in practicing and remembering the steps and the sacrifices of spending money for our costumes which result for the success. we have our dinner outside the trade center in the group of eatery called duko-duko. then we go home in separate ways. Thats all what we have done in the successful Educator's Night.

hemorragic prelim exams

I feel uncomfortable because one of my weakness is to see a blood or anything about blood. I feel so sick to talk about it but I try my best to post this just to express my experience last prelim examination.

"help, i need blood donor"

one of my classmates said this while studying physics for exams. Maybe, If I study physics home. maybe in will be nose bleeding.

Preliminary Examination was fall in July 20 & 21, 2009. One day before my birthday. I've studied Literature, English & Discrete Mathematics at home. I start reviewing in saturday. but I've review and scan anything except in physics. My habit in reviewing before the exams is, I must start with the simple subject and later the difficult one. Sometimes I do house works for me not to be bored inside my room reviewing my subjects.

In the examination day, I feel comfortable while others is more comfortable too. Some are not yet studied there lessons while others is busy in studying for the exam. I started to review that what I have studied last weekends may refresh in my mind.

all subjects find me so easy, but until I got my prelim exam for physics, which I saw it really hard to solve. That time, I feel the end of the world while answering each item. I said to my self unsa-on na lang ne oi!(what i will do). I lose hope that time, the hope to be one of the dean listers this school year. I want to cry that time ... but I can't. huhuhu!!!

the next day, all the remaining subjects finds me easy. like theology, I can't expect that exam is so easy. all the questions recalls in my mind. and also the subject in Math which is Integral Calculus. it seems quite easy but also difficult. But at least it is less pressured than the physics exam.

And that's it, my really nose bleeding prelim exam. I hope you get some lessons from this.

My First Website made ever!

Im glad to myself that I made my first website. and also it is in the web. For those interested, the URL of the website is http://smccwts-lorenzoruiz0809.bravehost.com . very long URL right? hehe!.the site have been published to the net because of my final presentation to my major subject. this is also serve as my final examination. the construction of the site had been started last January 2009 and published in the World Wide Web last March 2009. Signing of our clearance is going on that time.

At first, It was hard to make the site because of the many codes to encode in the notepad. Take note. I only use notepad and the web browser to construct my website.

my website is undergo with judgment, corrections and suggestions with my instructor. Actually she challenge us to make our website more better and presentable. Not to the extend that it has the javascript on it but present a website using a simple HTML codes. Sometimes, the browsers read the codes of my site really different in the other browser, which sometimes it makes all the website elements disarranged. sometimes it take time to load some of the data on each HTML pages, most especially in the Gallery section. the web hosting status is FREE. meaning, you will not pay every month just to published the site. Thanks to my classmate and friend who assist me to published my website in the World Wide Web.

the purpose of the website is to show the works and the way to implement our projects to our partner family. the site contains the information in our project proposal, project implementation , members and our photos while we are there every Saturday. the site also provide the sample information for the future CWTS students most especially for those who will be assign in the marginalized community.
